Privacy notice

1. Who is responsible for your data

Equity Trading Ltd is the controller of the personal data described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17010623, registered office 4 Nunbrook Grove, Buxton, England, SK17 7AU. For anything about your data, email info@eqtrltd.com.

2. What we hold about you

When you buy. Your name, email address, billing address and country, what you bought, the price and your payment history. These are taken by Stripe at checkout. Your card details go to Stripe only. We never see your full card number.

Your country at checkout. Our site checks which country your connection comes from, so that we only sell where we are able to. We record the two letter country code with your order. We do not store your IP address.

Your NinjaTrader® email. The email you give us so we can issue your licence, if it is different from the one you paid with.

Discord. When you connect Discord after buying, we receive your Discord user ID and username, add you to our server and open a private channel for you. We store your Discord ID, username and channel with your order. Messages in your channel are kept on Discord.

Emails you send us, and our replies.

We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or tracking cookies on this site.

3. Why we use it, and the legal basis

To provide what you bought: taking payment, issuing and managing your licence, opening your support channel and helping you. The legal basis is that this is needed for our contract with you.

To keep business and tax records, which the law requires us to do. The legal basis is legal obligation.

To check where a purchase comes from, so that we only sell in the countries listed in our terms of sale and can spot misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the business lawfully.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or make decisions about you by automated means alone.

4. Who else handles it

Stripe processes payments and holds billing records. Netlify hosts this website and processes your IP address to deliver pages and work out your country. Discord runs our server and your support channel. NinjaTrader receives the email your licence is issued to. Google Fonts supplies the fonts this site uses, so your browser contacts Google, which receives your IP address. Our email provider holds emails you send us.

Some of these companies are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where that happens, your data is protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK extension to the EU to US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep it

Order, billing and payment records: six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax.

Your Discord channel and its messages: for as long as you remain a member of our Discord server. You can ask us to delete your channel at any time.

Emails: kept with your order records, for the same six years.

6. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. Some rights have limits, for example we must keep billing records for tax even if you ask us to delete them. Email info@eqtrltd.com and we will reply within one month.
